The taping allows for full range of motion therefore movement is not restricted. In contrast to traditional sports taping which was wrapped around a joint strictly for stabilization and support during a sporting event. Kinesiology tape is used for a wide range of problems. Examples include: upper/lower back strain/pain, knee conditions, shoulder conditions, sports injuries, etc.archilles tendon20130701_193013-120131219_204131

Sports massage is effective at: relieving pain from injury, increasing circulation, lymphatic drainage, breaking down scar tissue, improving recovery from exercise and competition, removing waste products in the muscles, relaxing knots or tight, tired and stressed muscles and improving the condition of muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Sports massage is beneficial not only to the professional athlete but anybody who puts excess stress on their muscles on a day to day basis. For example, someone who sits at a computer all day and ends up slumping over the keyboard will in time potentially end up with very tight and painful neck and shoulder muscles. Sports massage treatment will help to relieve this problem and also help to prevent it in the future.

Sports massage not only helps the repair and recovery of muscle but keeps your muscles in good condition, allowing optimal range of movement, flexibility and power output.

I am a practising Sports Therapist based in Cumbria. I offer a mobile service to treat people in areas surrounding Barrow, Ulverston and South Lakes either at my base at Walney or, if you prefer, the comfort of your own home.

Since qualifying in 2006 I have worked with a variety of athletes including: rock climbers, runners, martial artists, footballers and hockey players.  Additionally, I have worked with others’ who do not take part in regular physical activity but whom may have injuries due to the type of work they undertake.  I have experience in providing sports massage at events such as: Brentwood Half Marathon, London Marathon and Block Fest Climbing event.

I have been taking part in sport for many years and am passionate about the sports I am involved in.  As a martial arts enthusiast, runner, rock climber and mountaineer, I am very aware of the impact sport can have on the body.  Taking time out of sport because of injury can be frustrating and sometimes unnecessary as the correct treatment can be given to facilitate the muscles into recovery. Massage Therapy can also speed up the recovery of overworked or fatigued muscles to enable the athlete to continue to compete at a high intensity.

I am a member of and insured with the Federation of Holistic Therapists and elected to the following councils: International council of Holistic Therapists, International Council of Health, Fitness and Sports Therapists.
